Fall?

I am happy to announce that the tech issues have been RESOLVED, and our email logins are working beautifully! HOORAY! (Check your Spam folder if you can't locate yours.)
Building Threaded has been exciting, scary, and frustrating. As we approach TTP's 4th birthday on October 3 and reflect on how far we've come, and I'm amazed. What started as a little book share funneled through Instagram is now a fully-functioning thing. We have databases, repositories, and subscribers. We have books all over the world, and we've barely just begun.
I feel like we are on the edge of a huge burst of new.
It is scary to dive into things unknown and trust that the leaps are the right ones. Long story short, as the project has grown, we've needed different people to do different things, especially on the tech side. So many great people have played pivotal roles.
The exciting part has been the serendipitous connections that appear in the nick of time.
It goes like this: TTP comes up in conversation, and someone randomly connects me to someone else who says, "Yes, we can do that," and another person says, "I've used ___, and it's been great," and another says, "I'd love to join you; my family is full of teachers." So many talented people are working hard to make TTP fun, exciting, and functional. On the other side of the screen, we've been lucky to have committed readers (YOU!) who are patient, excited, and ready to share their love of books with the world.
Boom, now we're moving forward again, gaining speed as we go.
I feel like we could be starting the "suddenly" part. |

Everyone who takes leaps also knows not to get too confident. So, to coin a COVID phrase, "It is with cautious optimism" that I say, thank you, dear friend, and let's THREAD BOOKS this fall and forever!
Wait. Fall? Is it?
I'm writing from Saint Louis, Missouri (USA) where temps and humidity have been higher than ever. Just ask my hair. When the newscaster reported the first day of fall last week, I looked at the calendar in shock. It's nearly October.
Then I started thinking of what's to come this season: Threaded's 4th birthday, my birthday, a trip for Thanksgiving, field hockey season, bike rides, and lots of fresh air through newly opened windows.
Saint Louis' changing leaves are gorgeous (our neighbor's ginkgo turns the brightest green-apple green), and on weekends, we take this gal on special walks through historic neighborhoods and parks.

Here are some exciting things to expect this fall from Threaded:
We're rolling out our new branding! Ciara, our Canadian magic-making, vision-harnessing designer created our new logo, mascot, and palette.
Michaela, our Connecticut-born social media manager, will unveil the new branding and continue to provide the most gorgeous reels from her office in Cape Town, South Africa.
We have new book stickers that are at the printer this very minute! They are super cute, and I can't wait for you to see them! Because we're ordering in bulk and reducing the size from 5x7 to 4x6, they will now be sold in 5-packs for $5.
For our busy bees and automation fans, we're now offering a monthly subscription! This option is especially great for our Little Free Library stewards whose inventory moves quickly. Click the "subscription" option on the check-out page, and you will receive a 5-pack of stickers every month.
We will have some special Threaded sticker packs for holiday gifting.
We'll also have some new Threaded merch for sale! Coming soon, we promise!
We'd love your help promoting Threaded! In addition to Threading books, tag us, tell friends, re-post, and connect!

What book connections have you recently made? Did you and a stranger chat over a book? Did you suggest a title to a stranger? In any conversation, did someone say, "Oh, I remember that book! I loved it!"?
We're looking to feature user stories in our marketing and media. Tell us about them > thethreadedproject@gmail.com.
Enjoy fall, friends. |
